I am a freelance journalist based in London. Over the past fourteen years I have covered many problems: global and local stories of poverty, exclusion and injustice. Increasingly, I moved beyond those stories to include the solutions I found. I tell stories of change from across the globe, and find people with ideas that work. I witnessed the birth of the new nation of South Sudan and interviewed the Dalai Lama. National and international media outlets I reported for include Al Jazeera, BBC and the Guardian, but I also work with social enterprises like The Big Issue magazine and street papers around the world. I am co-founder of the Constructive Journalism Project (http://www.constructivejournalism.org) and founder of Jounopreneur (http://journopreneur.me), a platform to help freelancers adapt to the changing media landscape. I believe that while both the medium and the message are changing, the need for good storytelling remains.
